noisey x-box 360

at the moment connected to my boys cheap portable tv via composite from x-box to scart, can' fault graphics even on his cheap portable, but the console is quite loud, also seem to be getting a hum through the connections, any ideas, am using the lead that came in the package.

neil, i mean the sound like a noisey computer, i think it must be the fan ?

John,
The only time I ever hear ours is when I'm close up to it fiddling around with cables.
Are you using it horizontally or vertically? Ours is horizontal but I notice that if it was vertical the outlet for the fan would appear to be on the underside. The feet don't seem to give it much clearance so maybe it gets hotter this way round and the fan works harder.
