The guillimots

Everything but the kitchen sink music!

Theremins, brass bands, percussion, strings etc etc. Not the most subtle record you will hear this year but they really aim to distance themselves from the bulk of the music industry which is far to safe sounding for its own good IMO.

You may have heard thye single 'made up love song'. The album has plenty more killer hooks and has really grown on me in a bombastic way! I recommend you get a listen - love it or hate it, at least you will struggle to say 'this sounds like so and so'.

Chris

Have you heard it or did you place an order solely on my two line recommendation? If the latter then I am mildy nervous!

Relax Simon! It was very well reviewed in either the Sunday Times or the Saturday Telegraph. I try to broaden my horizons occassionally!

Cool Chris! I gave it a good blast last night and to these ears the album contains some great songs and musical momemts.

Just playing it for the first time. I really like it. Will play it again immediately. Seems very inventive.

Glad its working for you. There are four real standouts for me but overall quality is excellent. A bit like the ambition of a Flaming Lips album which is never a bad thing IMO.
