Hello.
I'm currently using a Naim cd3 and I'm wondering if it is worthwhile to upgrade to cd5. Any advise?
My system consist of:
Credo
NAP140
NAC72 with snaps dual railed
CD3
Thanks in advance!

You have to listen for yourself. For my money the CD5 is the best performer on the market at that price point. However, you may not think so. To my ears you system would probably sound fast and lean. I prefer the smoother more full bodied (but not flabby)sound that the CD5 offers. Others think this is a move in the wrong direction. Horses for courses.
I believe that the CD3 cannot be upgraded with an xps? The CD5 can be FCaped or HiCaped to very good effect.

Thanks RRKid and HTK for your reply. HTK, you are right that my system is fast and kinda lean in someway. I also read the review of the CD5 in Stereophile and after reading it, I felt that my system might benefit from the "sound" of CD5. That is if Stereophile got its review right!
