Chris K./ Messing with the tweeters........Help...

Chris,

Could NANA come up with a manual to complete this tough but necessary task?

In the mean time,is there a bench mark for the amount of torque for the Phillips screws?

Regards,

Marc

She asked for a Grand piano.
All I could give her was an upright organ...

Great idea Marc! ...and is it me or is a DBL manual missing from the Naim Main Web-site? Also...(and until Chris replies)...have you looked at page 10 of the online Axent owner's manual (which has suspended tweeter adjustment tips)?

Its almost impossible to describe the dbl tweeter plate set up its all about feel! but it could read adjust screw through grommet and move fins on the plate until it bounces freely!

If you look at the axent tweeter set up as Dave suggests it will give you a good idea.

I would leave it to your dealer or Chris. Bend the plate too much and you screw the whole thing up!

Paul,

Agreed......

A thought.
Is the amount of work, and result worth waiting monthes before something could be done? I would guess that when adjusted there is truly a wonderful transformation in the sound.

Could this be considered something like an annual upkeep task that if sent to NANA, they could complete this and send the mid/tweeter sections back to the house?
Yes,charge me for the time....

Thoughts?

Yes its worth waiting for, if you mess up the plate it will have to be replaced, overbending deforms the plate.
Once set up, it should not change position if the unit is not moved. The set up needs to be done in location as the internal wires are a part of the suspension action.

Dave, looked at the Axent manual.
For me, there is not enough,How to, to complete the task. The pictures are a good start..Not enough text to feel good about moving forward.

If I remember correctly, there was no mention about the wires. This aspect seems to be the critical aspect of the tweak........

Knowing that there is an opportunity and having no means to optimize can be frustrating...

I understand where you're coming from Marc. Have you thought about calling CK and having him walk you through the procedure over the phone? I'm sure he'd be happy to oblidge.
