Want to feel sick?

BigH. I went up it about 3 years ago not sure to which floor but it was 100 plus. The building had no external cladding and open fronted floors had safety rails & cages. I have worked at height myself and it does take some getting used to if its not a regular event, and I used to call that vertigo, but I soon found out that it was not. Up the Burj that was real height and with the feeling of being out on the edge, not able to stand and for the first time in my life I had real vertigo, not just feeling wobbly, but the world was spinning and stomach was churning. I did manage to get to the safety cage and hold on. It was something never forgotten.

This guy obviously doesn't suffer from vertigo!

Having been foolish enough to enjoy climbing and caving when young I'm fine with heights, as long as I'm tied on to something!
Don't think Scottyhammer's too bothered by heights either...

Thanks Gary the things people will do to get noticed, I expect it's art though.
An article to the side caught my eye about "larger" sized models.

I once went up the TV Tower in Stuttgart, to the outside viewing platform. It was all I could do to get back in the lift to go back down again. I didn't realise I had a problem with heights until then. Just watching that video makes me shiver.

I felt bad standing on the roof to the right of the picture.

Just as well he's Petit. When he hits the ground he will only make a small splat.

It was quite an experience standing at the top of the World Trade Centre - what a view. The story of how Petit did this walk is one of the great stories and well worth watching.
If you have never seen this film, then I highly recommend it.

Yes the WTC was ticked off my "to do before expiring" list, 1980 to be exact.

I used to stay there a lot in the hotel at the bottom before 2001 as it was opposite our office. Must have gone up first time in 94 or so.
