Newbie seeks advice

Dear forum,

I have recently made the move to Naim (albeit entry level) and have a question. I initially switched my NAD integrated for a 92R, 90/3 and flatcap. Yesterday I changed my AMC CD6 for a Naim CD5. All of my cables, speaker wire are Naim. and my speakers are Vienna Acoustics (I know you all probably don't like them. but can't change everything overnight!)

The question is: weher will the flatcap do the most good? I know that some will tell me to get a Hicap for the preamp-but assume that I am done spending money for the moment. How would you seto up this system? My intial impression are that the flatcap on the CD5 exaggerates the midrange a bit. What are the expectations regarding the flatcap on the cd5 vs the 92.

Thanks!

Bruce

Hi
Why don't you power the pre-amp and the CD5 with the FC2, then all the available power in the 90/3 will be available for the speakers. My local dealer told me when I ran a 32.5/NAP 90 that this was the level where a power supply made the most positive difference.
