Assuming that you did not have the luxury of an A/B comparison, and you were buying second hand, so the Arkiv was $150 or so more than the Troika, which would you recommend for its 'musicality'? I have an LP12/Lingo/Ittok LVII.
Incidentally, the reason I have Naim rather than Amstrad is because I heard an LP12/six-pack/Isobarik system in the early 80s and was totally blown away. I wanted _that_ sound.

I can't fund the purchase of a new arm
and continue with my plans to purchase a 1/4 share of a

If you're trying to recreate the classic 80's sound, then the Troika would be the one.

"I bought a secondhand rebuilt Troika with a boron cantilever"
Very interesting. Is this via expert stylus company? When I spoke to them recently they said that this was not commercially available. Can you shed some more light on its history?

can you swing an ARO or Ekos?
I have this strange thought that the above is like twirling your interconnects!
I must check next time I'm on a factory tour at Naim, if they've added an "ARO Swinger" next to the "SNAIC Shaker"

I was referring to the sound that JohnS referred to in his opening post.
