Fiskes and Rasmussens on the Net.

Dear Friends, I found this the other day. It's lovely, and from a less hectic time...

Oskar Rasmussen was my great great grandfather. Signy Rasmussen was my great grandmother, who married Ivar Fiske, who in is the pictures. Kitty was her sister, who was a school teacher, and, according to my grandmother was, "one big character!"

Ole Kjell [Fiske] died in 1931, and Svein only recently, and these two are my grandmother Siss's brothers, least born at the time before 1927. Erik came later and is a bouncing eighty year old today!

These ralaxed shots [in the public domain]remind me of the days I have had up in Skurdalen over the last forty years. I hope others enjoy these harmlessly intimate portrates!

Dear Fredrik

Fantastic. The internet has certainly made these type of historical records far more accessible and it is always a fascination to find information about, and pictures of, one's own family like this.

My wife was researching the Welsh side of her family the other day and found some letters referring to an ancestor of hers from 1822 who had been the foreman in charge of the construction of an embankment in Bangor.

My dad also found some pictures of my great grandfather in the Cottingham Salvation Army band circa 1920s.

He is sitting far left.

Regards

Mark
