Apologies for the sketchy detail but I am pretty sure I heard there is a Dave Gilmour special on Radio 2 this Thursday at 8pm.

Saturday BBC1 23:00-00:00 DG Live at the RAH.
Bearing in mind that this and the news before are following the last night of the proms extra recording time should be allowed if using time shift viewing.

Went to Leicester Square Odeon last night for the DG Live at the RAH Premier. If you were at the RAH last year and caught on camera, your best features will show up wonderfully in HD. Saw about 20 mins of the Tour diary (2nd DVD) before the main event, very interesting. I won't spoil it for those who will watch BBC1 on Saturday, suffice to say your in for a treat. The actual Concert preview lasted around 80 mins, so even this edit will be edited. I don't know if it's an HD broadcast, but If you have Sky HD, you lucky buggers. After the show my nephew supplied a sticky badge and we went upstairs and mingled with some nice people, I had to pinch myself and smiled more than this

Gilmour is the absolute master of tone, feel and atmospheric guitar. Sublime.

Why then does he bore me to death.

Maybe you don't like sublime, atmospheric guitar, Bob.

I watched Dave Gilmour on TV last night and yes he was great. Mrs Mick was so enthralled, she told me to get my guitar our and start practicing fast.
Don't worry about comments from Bob McCluckie, 90% of his postings are either cheap snipes or criticisms at something or somebody.

Well I was sceptical about it and listened more in hope than expectation.
I agree with Marc and Mick - DG was excellent.

May I have your autograph please Rodge?

Well the only time I looked up was when he played Rog's stuff. His own is crap.

Do you ever say anything constructive at all. Nearly everything you say is slagging something or someone off.

I yelled "ALRIGHT DAVE?" in the cinema and he replied, "yes thanks, and yourself?"

Anyone who was there will tell you he was tremendous. Boring? Heaven help us. The dvd will be a fabulous record of the event for us. My partner is learning a whole new musicography, having been pretty much a MagicFM girl til she moved in here, and she was spellbound by the music.

..... sometimes you just can't win ...
that keyboard player was pretty good too - especially when they did Arnold Layne - didn't think the vocalist was as good as Syd though ...

Mike,
I remember your 'yell' and it set the tone for a wonderful evening. I wish I had your courage when standing 10 feet from DG at the 'drinks' upstairs afterwards. In addition to the band, Robert Plant was also present and seemed to know David better than I. The band jamming at the end were an unexpected surprise and David anouncing that he wasn't finished with touring yet was great news.

I remember it too!!! My right ear is still ringing!!
It was much the same at the RAH concert. Mike yelled out 'Diamond Dogs' when Mr Bowie made his appearance. He was hoping it would be picked up on the DVD but we couldn't hear it.
Mike has been trained to be heard above mortar fire so knows how to project his voice.
Munch, you NEED to get a full on lightshow to get a better effect especially for the concert highlights (e.g. Echoes), was quite impressed with what they did in the cinema.

I'll try that later after we've eaten. I always enjoy concert dvds of shows which I have actually attended. We were there on the second night - not sure how much of that is included versus the Bowie night. It was a fabulous gig and great to have a permanent record of it. The Cream reunion dvd is another one: we actually made it onto the dvd as we were in the front row!
