Frank Abela: Would Dynaudio Monitors work better in my room ?
Posted by: Jaybar on 09 August 2001
Was wondering if the 1.3 mk II and 1.1 would work better in my room, or other stand mounted speakers for that matter. Keep in mind that the room is only 12 foot wide, so that speakers that like lots of room from the side walls are impractical with 30-33" from the side walls (measured from tweater being optimally practical.
Room is concrete so it hold on to bass. Would the smaller speakers work closer together than the 1.8;s do. Here are my latest room measurements with my "final position for the Contour 1.8's.
200 hz -5db
160 hz +1db
125 hz +1db
100 hz +3db
80 hz 0db
63 hz -2db
50 hz -2db
40 hz +1db
31.5 hz -1db
25hz -3db
20 hz -4db
If I did get the Dynaudio Monitors how are they usually positioned?
I would like to be able to listen semi far field (10-11 feet from the speakers) with them 30-35" from the wall behind them (wall has drapes).
If Dynaudio monitors are adviseable any other suggestions that might fit the bill?
