Rasher,
Adam hasn't edited the member status at all. Polarbear is a new member and starts from scratch as a new member (not for long!). NB remains forum owner on 10,000 which he acheived.
Nothings been edited!

If you look at the opening post, your...sorry...NB's member status now reads "Forum Owner (Briefly)"
Posted on: 07 April 2005 by Polarbear
Rasher,
Yes I know, if you look on the Karma page then you can clearly see it laid out.
NB stays at 10,000 post and will therefore remain Forum owner.

Hmm...sour grapes methinks....

Nah, sour grapes is not having a dishwasher

Still?? Has your other 'arf forbidden a new one then?

What Adam has edited is not anything specifically applying to NB. Though nobody else is terribly close, anyone who has between 10,000 and 10,004 posts (inclusive) becomes 'forum owner (briefly)'.
Of course, that's not to say that Adam won't alter the karma levels....... but I wouldn't want to put ideas into his head, it would hardly seem fair.

No no no...you misunderstand Jon. I was referring to another forum member who is continually rude to people and thought it could be good if he had Rude Bastard by his name. Sorry for any misunderstanding. Surely you must know who I mean?
Polarbear. I don't have access to your Karma page, I only know that NB is now a God. Being a God depends on others having faith, so I am happy to just believe.

I understand that the name change was to comply with EU Directive 0 0401 - Consistency of Forum Posting Names Across the EU.
He nearly got an exception because the forum is hosted in the US - but as the paymasters are in the EU - he had to change his name.
I expect all of your posting names will be examined in the next few months.

No no no no noooooo Rasher, I think you've misunderstood me !! My 'sour grapes' comment was in reference to what looks to me like Adam's edit of NB's "forum owner" status! I certainly hope you don't think I was accusing you of all people of sour grapes!
TBH I wish I knew which 'Rude Bastard' you were referring to - there've been a few around here in my time!

Unless, of course, if Adam wants to call me something else
Any ideas for him?

PB - Yes - although I thought the paragraph 4A was also equally relevant - the killer bit really was the extra 500 pages of additional regulation that was introduced by the Civil Servants in Whitehall to enforce the rules and prevent progress - still it is a way of employing people at a greater cost to the public than leaving them on the dole where they have a chance of getting a job that would be of benefit to the country

Derek,
I thought paragraph 4a was confusing. I had a team of twenty lawers read through it to determine the implications for myself. Equally I have had a clause inserted into my PI insurance to cover me against any future liability.
Adam,
BTW does the prize of two 500s still apply to the first forum member to reach the magical 10,000 point barrier?

BTW Adam,
what would have happened if I was to click on those extra two lines on NB's Karma page?
