Nice Little Momento of the Great Sir Edward Elgar, that I found.

The sound track is the The Prelude to the Oratorio, The Kingdom, recorded by Elgar in 1933 with the BBC SO.

It is one of the most lovely of Elgar pieces, and hardly known. My goodness these pictures and music move me to tears. This the world I grew up in, albeit two generations later. Grew up with this music from a child of nine. Knew the old shelac discs of this and other of Elgar's music in the school library, knew the [Malvern] Hills like the back of my hand, and nothing seems as civilised and grand today.

Enjoy this! Happy New Year to all Music Lovers, from George

Thankyou George truly beautiful. I have never heard that piece before, very moving.
Having scenery like Malvern and Worcester must have been a great inspiration for him.

Dear Howard,

I have that recording in a splndid early nineties transfer on CD, and I wore it out twice on lPs as a child. I love it. Discovering that and the Pathe film I put on my History of Recording Thread of Elgar onducting - a film I knew existed and only found today - made me very nostalgic, for the the happy, careless times of the sixties and seventies when I was little.

Elgar was a true hero of mine from a very early age. Others have come since, but my feelings for the music of his - well that will never go, so long as i live!

Thanks for your reply!

ATB from George
