Michael Nyman's Double Concerto for Saxophone and Cello (Harle/Lloyd-Webber) does it for me.
Lovely piece, and I also like the trombone concerto on the same recording.

One album I do miss from vinyl -
The Paris Saxaphone Quartet.
Their take on classical pieces were truly amazing.
I do wish I could get it on CD, but as of yet have been unlucky in my search.

Born to Run was the album that made me realise the sax could be a very effective rock instrument.

Julee Cruise's 'Floating Into The Night', an offshoot from the wonderful David Lynch's 'Twin Peaks'. The saxophonist is listed as Al Regni who, when I checked just now and much to my astonishment, is principal saxophonist of the New York Philharmonic, and holds the same position with the New York City Ballet.
Also a bit surprising that neither of Van Morrison's 'Astral Weeks' or 'Moondance' has had a mention.
