Cheers. Wonderful group. Great albums only surpassed by the live experience.

Yeah I saw them at a small University gig in Leeds in 08. I thought they would be quite melancholy however they were very upbeat and put on a cracking show. Sadly I missed them at the Green Man festival in August 08 as we had to leave early........great band, great lyrics Smile

I don't normally pay much attention to lyrics, but I remember hearing Alligator for the first time and thinking a couple of times, 'did he just say what I think he did?!'

They've a gig at the Royal Albert Hall around the time the album's out. Hmmm, might be a good time to see them play for the first time.

Sold Out

Watch out for more dates though and I have seen their name mentioned on a couple of festivals (can't remember which ones though)

mine's on pre order so I'm waiting. Apparently there was a low quality album leak so thats why they are streaming. The Nash are doing a lot of festivals this year, think they are trying to raise the profile - good luck to them

I see from the other thread that you've succumbed to temptation and given it a listen. On my second play this evening - thanks to your thread, and Bruce's post today.

I only know Alligator and Boxer, and to me, it sounds kind of how I'd expect an album by The National to sound, but in a good way. I'm sometimes suspicious of albums like that, but I think it's probably because it's just got some good songs, and could well make them a much bigger band. As for lyrics, I just noticed that "Conversation 16" is a good one, especially the closing refrain.

Oh, and talking of them getting bigger, I read last week that the gig at the Royal Albert Hall sold out in four minutes! Oh well.
