What is a good shop/site to listen tracks off cds as some of the recomendations here sound interesting (indigo girls) but I would like to here some before I buy and my usual shops (audiostreet and cd101) aren't helping me much these days. By the way last Sundays Times and monthly from now on comes with a great cd rom of the months new releases.(ps. sorry to clog up the top of the page with 3 questions)

Do you mean on-line, if so I'm not sure.

But for real shops Borders is great. It has listening stations where you just scan in any CD on their shelfs and can listen to the first couple of minutes of each album track. Unfortunately not every CD is covered but maybe 50% are. So if you go in with a list you can have a listen to a good few to see if they are what you're after.

Hi,

Obviously, there's amazon, but I also found this German site to be quite good: musicline.

Try the wireless

Saturday nights BBC Radio 2, 10pm - The Bob Harris Show.

I discover most of my new music there.

I am lucky to have a circle of music loving friends with (mainly) Naim systems. We get together and discover each other's new musical gems.

This is a really nice way to discover new music, and would not have been possible without the enthusiasm and help of our local Naim dealer; Graham of 'Basically Sound' just south of Norwich.

Try to meet up with the similarly afflicted in your area.
