Galliard - any info?
Posted by: Top Cat on 24 September 2001
Hi folks.
One of my recent acquisitions is a Decca/Nova sampler LP from 1970. The first track, "Skillet", by a band called Galliard, is particulary to my liking, but I can't find out much more as internet searches have thus far proved fairly fruitless.
What I'm looking for is either of their two LPs, "Strange Pleasure" (on Nova/Deram DN/SDN 4) and "New Dawn" (Deram SML 1075).
Can anyone help, or does anyone remember this band at all? A copy on CDR would be fantastic - or even better still original vinyl!

Never did get anywhere finding this one, despite von Z.'s offer, so I thought I'd bump this one up to see if anyone can help. Would really like a copy of this.

From what I remember, they were at the really dreary end of the Deram roster, along with The Egg. Checck out East of Eden instead.

Hi
I have all the Egg albums and have listened to them for many years and still derive pleasure from them . I also have some East of Eden but prefer Egg, Dave Stewart is quite superb in places and they had a different idea and sound to anyone else.

Jim
