DVD and copy protection

Dear Folks,

i'm in the market for my first dvd player.
It should be better then my PC....

Nevertheless, a few days ago i saw DVDs labeld
with "copy protected". Any ideas, whether all
DVD-Players could play them? Or will there be
the same problem like the differenc between
Red-Book CDs and copy protected data units?

Comments on that would be welcome.

Most DVDs are "copy protected" with the Macrovision process. They play in all DVD players.
