NDAC and Virgin STB

Hello forum,
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue. The virgin box is connected to one of the NDAC inputs via a SPDIF over optical. All the channels play perfectly out through the main system except for the HD channels. I seem to just get what sounds like digital white noise. Is this because its not being outputted as standard two channel audio, and is some funky dolby 5.1 that the NDAC cant decode??? Thoughts greatly appreciated

It's sending Dolby Digital encoded audio on the HD channels - there's probably an option in the settings to send "normal" stereo - labeled Linear audio (vs Bitstream for DD) or just Stereo (vs Multi-channel).

Can you adam and eve it. You can change from dolby digital to 2 channel audio down the HDMI cable but this does not do owt the SPDIF out the back of the box grrrrrr!

I'll take a look at my box settings tonight when i get home as i have mine set to 2.0 PCM feeding a DAC. Im pretty sure its in the HDMI overide settings.

Ah ok - i've got the pace V+ box. Try HDMI overide 'off' if your box will do it. Just checked the n-Vi display and its showing PCM 2.0 whether on the normal or HD channels. If i turn HDMI overide 'on' then HD channels show Dolby Digital on the display.
