Nowt to do with music, but I'm having a hell of a job with my son persuading him that this is going to be a scam. Wouldn't mind people's thoughts on this website for mobile phones......he's gone from wanting a £50 phone from The Carphone Warehouse to a £400 Nokia 6230 down to £20 on this remarkable deal....
Possible mobile phone scam
Thanks
Brian

It looks too good to be true. I clicked on a couple of phones and see that there delivery times are desperately slow. I wonder where they source the phones from???

SCAM SCAm SCAM.
This is just a pyramid scheme with a slightly novel twist.
You are relying on multiple other people signing up to get your phone. These work effectively for the first few generations of the pyramid, but then the number of signup required to support the pyramid becomes far too large and the whole thing collapses.
All pyramid schemes work in a similar manor.
AVOID at all costs.

Hi Brian,
Haven't seen you here for a long time.
A good general rule is that if an unknown site does not at least provide a valid, verifiable postal address then it's not even worth checking it out.

This website is rough. Try changing the font sizes etc, it all shows it self as the amatuer rubbish that it is.
Very much best left.

also note that when you click on the link to 'sign up for this mobile' it says at the top:
Also on the phone I looked at (T610) there are currently 39 people signed up for it, and they dispatch the phone to the top person on the list when the latest members list hits 15. That means if you sign up now, you'll be waiting quite a long time for your name to get near the top.
As mentioned above, I'd steer well clear.

Before you submit your order please make sure that you are clear on what you are paying for. You are initially purchasing a CD ROM which will also allow you a place on our list for receiving your desired handset for free. You are guaranteed to receive your handset upon reaching the top of the phone list.

Thanks for all the replies. You know how it is with kids, they won't believe their parents but they believe everybody else. My son is now convinced, he's off to a shop in the town now to buy one 'via the normal channels'.
Cheers everyone, much appreciated.

Jeremy
I took a break from here for a year, needed it really, I'd been around in the days of the old software so I'd been here a long time and was taking it all too seriously. I started popping in for a look every few months but I don't post much.
