iPhone Apps

So any good recommendations? Any must haves Apps.
I put Tom Tom Western Europe on my phone this week and have been very impressed with it, although you do need to buy the very over priced cradle for it to work properly.

I also have a new iPhone, I'm just using the basics and trying to get used to it. It's so much more wonderful than what I had.

I have ignored all the apps for quite a while but have been loading them up on the phone recently and they really do make the iphone even more wonderful. So many good things out there to try out and either free or not very expensive.

If you have Sky+ or SkyHD then the Sky+ app (appropriately named) is essential.

'Smack Talk', 59p I think, a very silly, quite simple application, and I am sure the boys will love it, and after a glass of wine you will too.
My girlfriend has it, and we were recommended it in a pub on Holiday, we laughed so much when we got back to the flat that we nearly wet the bed. Once you start laughing at it and it laughs back you lost.
Here is a link to a good example of someone playing with it:

Also Brian Eno's 'Bloom' is a nice calming ambient music generator, which Tony mentioned, and also 'Trope' by him too.

Thanks - I have Louvre, Smack Talk and Bloom and will look at Trope and Vincent. Another one similar to Bloom is Air.

Angry Birds is a highly amusing game.
The Met Office weather page is very good, I also like the National Rail Enquiries journey planner.

Just loaded the Asborometer app. My area, Cambridge east, comes out at 15%. Who lives in Newham? Almost a 50% Asbo rating. Ouch.

Most pointless? Mystarbucks. Except to help avoid going near one: coffee with the flavour removed.

Totally pointless but good fun 'Lightsaber' for all those Star Wars wannabes. 'FREE Wi-Fi' is useful when you are out and about & 'Bubble Wrap' to release the tension.

I've heard that the v4.0 update will allow the iPhone to run multiple apps. If true, great. If not, doesn't really matter.

I'll add the lovefilm. I am all apped out at the moment. Tom Tom is superb - I am very impressed how it works on the iphone with the tom tom iphone cradle. We are now going to get rid of our sat nav as the iphone does it all and you always carry that with you.

All them are so good but I also like Fring for cheap calls and social networks.

My lad has just got a rasberry, and the sat-nav app only goes to the first few digits of the post code which is a bit sad, you can get so far to your destination but.......
Mind you we used have a TomTom like that at work.

For a game I recomend Crazy Birds - simple, bonkers but adictive.
The Itunes remote control is handy.
SKY+ - when your out and need to record something.
Shazam - To find out what music is playing
Tweety 2 - To tweet (Link it to your facebook acount so you only do one update)
LOL cats because it's silly and I like cats great to kill a spare minute.
