Is it make sense?

Hi!

Did anyone know some active system with Intros.
I have Intro2 and asking myself is it have any sense to go active with it.
What do you think?
Let's just say that system will be CD5/Hi-Cap/202/Napsc/Hi-Cap/Snaxo 2-4/Hi-Cap/2X200

Surely you would be better investing in a better CD player rather than two 200'S. The system you describe is going to sound so unbalanced.

It is not make sense (see above), and also it is no close resemblitude to your current sistem, is it? You have a Nait, isn't you?

Herm !

Yes, I still have Nait, but two weeks ago I have get myself CD5 and Intros. Oh man, unpacking two different Naim components, brand new, what a smell, what a feeling was that. On the other side it was impossible for me to buy a pre amp and power amp with cdp+speakers at same time.
My wish is to get a full Naim system first with tendency on source first, so I did it and it was much better than I was expected. But my plans is to go for a 202/200 soon.
Second - Why puting Intros into active did not have a sense, did you heard Intro2, did you heard them in active setup. Why did you answer like that, did you try to provocate me because I was mention such a cracking system to drive Intros, but on the other way I own only a Nait2?
Should I be ashamed about to owning Nait2?
Did I must have NAP300 in order to ask something about NAP500?

Please, don't even think about to try to use me as a poligon, because Nuno was missing here.

Have a nice day,

What is a Poligon?

I think the general consensus is to get better source and amps before going active.

I am not saying active wouldn't be beneficial but I doubt that anyone has tried the active system you suggest.

Of course I'm not saying you should feel bad about having a Nait 2.

On the contrary what I'm saying is be happy with it, and perhaps a next good step is upgrade the source by adding a Hi or Flat, rather than the total sistem upheaval you were asking about.

secondly you've got me stumped: what's a "poligon"?

herman

you are correct in surmising we need more Nuño posts, I guess.

Is poligon is a chess piece, the little one?

Is that make sense? wink

Steve T !

Is is 82 too revealing for Intro2?
I am very interesting about that, because many people sys that.

Poligon is something like training court or playground, mathematically speaking.

American Heritage Dictionary: "a closed plane figure bounded by three or more line segments"

I once had a girlfriend who used me as a polygon. Turned out she was cheating on me with a straight line. In the end she left me for a sphere.

So it happened to you, too, Thomas?

A pattern is emerging. The deeper you get into the continent the more likely it gets you run into folks with a polygon complex.

Truly weird. This whole Continental Naimie Barbie, is this going to be affected by polygon ramifications? I'm not real anxious to get some guy a beer, and next thing he's saying I'm using him as a poligon. Absolutely not.

Steve T !

Steve T ---"Do you have to take out the crossover yourself?---"

Really don't know, but that shpuld not be a problem.

Steve T ---"This is just idle thought but I've always wondered if its possible to swap the tweeters in the Intros for Credo/SBL tweeters---"

That would be very interesting to know if Intro2 with Scanspeak tweeter can work without reconfiguring a crossover.

So... do you prefer a CD5/Flatcap2 to a CDX/XPS???
