RGB through HD15 connection on a projector

Posted by: Wazza69 on 09 August 2007

Hi,

I have just picked up a rather cheap Panasonic AE100 SD projector with component, RGB through HD15, S video and regular RCA connectors. Just in time for the Rugby World Cup!

Anyway, I want to connect a BT Vision box using RGB HD15 to scart. Any ideas on how this can be done? Alternatively, The BT vision box has a HDMI, would it be possible to use the HD15 to DVI connector that came with my Mac Powerbook and then a DVI to HDMI connector since its all digital. This wouldnt be RGB, would the quality be much worse? The BT box dosent have component unfortuantly and I am using that for my progresive DVD player anyway.

Any help would be appreciated. Especially from any Pany owners out there!

Cheers

The HD15 is RGBHV analog, the DVI may have it or not (device dependant).
The HDMI doesn't carry an analog signal, so this one is imposible IMO.

For the SCART, sorry I can't help, this standard is unknown here.

-If its a DVI-I connector then this will have all pins wired. (i.e. analogue and digital)

-RGB HD15 is most likely progressive and the SCART is interlaced

-note that RGBHV signals tend to be copy protected...

HDMI out to HD15 in won't work.
