For Sale and Wanted Forum

I'm shocked. Posting a poll on polling day indeed. What came over you?
Good idea though (no.3 that is.)
cheers

Advertising the sale of previously-owned Naim components should also be permitted for the same reason.
The above should surely work to the advantage of sales of Naim components overall. Someone buying a second-hand Naim product advertised on this forum will gain access to the great sound that Naim produces and will then possibly upgrade later. It's a win-win situation for Naim-audio, IMHO.

I agree that advertising kit will not affect values and image etc but I think it is enjoyable using and reading the forum knowing that people contribute out of shared interests, their prime motive for joining being contact not commerce.
Sites such as loot.com seem to work well, do we really need to duplicate it here? We have no more guarantee bewteen members than on loot.
If we do allow adverts how could we possibly limit this to Naim only-not only would that be uneforceable but it is rather snobbish. What about all you LP12 owners. We don't bar discussion of non-Naim in the forum so we could not block sales thereof!

I seem to remember that magazines and newspapers used to shoulder some very limited responsibilities for the behavior of the advertisers and the quality of the goods.
As for my view, I think a for sale/wanted forum would be just fine - although I don't see why we can't all use the naimmarket on topica.com

Providing any possible legal issues can be addressed it should be a win-win situation for Naim and the user-base as well.
