When your dvd-player and your display or beamer both have native progressive-scan out+inputs, the picture is not converted, and you shouldn't have any sync problems. But this feature is quite young for pal-systems, it was not allowed until recently (only ntsc) because of missing copy protection. so a practical test of the desired combinaion is important.
When you have a source with normal interlaced picture out and somewhere in your "picture-chain" is some kind of linedoubler funcionality (like the chip-sets from faroudja or sim2 found in higher-range beamer inputs, dvd-players outputs, or separate-box video scalers) they have a lot to do in calculating the right lines together to generate progressive scan pictures with the right matching motion phases... this causes the delay!
Thank's for the infos Richard. Can you leak some additionals about the planned date, features or price-range whe can expect for the VS1 and the AV2 Update (software only)?

happy listening
Adrian
