positioning electronics

Right,

New system (NAIT5,CD5,FC2, CDM1NTs) settling in nicely now (getting better hourly Smile) and although I haven't yet had the benefit of the dealer coming round to sanity check everything and tweak bits, it's sounding fab...just one question. Currently my equipment stands about 2 metres to the right of the right speaker (cable is 2x5m lengths of NACA5). Just been reading the "Shake, Rattle and Roll" document by Russ Andrews and it recommends placing kit between speakers...Is this generally regarded as bad practice or doesn't it matter? What are the reasons for this (other than purely cosmetic)?

Cheers,

woody.

This is an 'opinion' issue as apposed to anything genuinely regarded as scientific. The only potential issue could be if you have a deck between or near the speakers and there is some serious volume which could skip the record.

As you may be able to guess this is unlikely. If I were you sit back with a glasa of red, may I suggest a nice Australian cabernet.

Nice.

After about 5 days it's started sounding really sweet finally.

No TT (yet) although the new entry-level Michel (Gyro SE?) looks quite tempting as does the Nottingham Analogue Spacedeck.

Down to last bottle of red, actually - Argentinian Shiraz which I'm about to open.

Big Grin
