Red Arrows at the Olympics

Government response to the petition here.

To be honest I can't remember where it all originated. Was it a storm in a teacup or a piece of mischief?

It was reported that the Red Arrows were deemed too British and were not going to be used. I could not get so very upset one way or the other, considering our hosting of the Olympics as being a questionable thing in terms of benefit for money spent, and having a positive antipathy to elitist sport.

I would prefer to see school sports fields and facilities improved and made more availoable for the use of the general public as this can be fitted within the school timetabling hours.

I think HMG will have realised that floating the idea showed just how unpopular the banning the RAs would be and now we are seeing the back pedalling. If we host the Olmpics then at least we should do it with style!
