Does anyone know what the piece of music at the beginning of this video is called? And if you recognize the performance, or know of others that you like, please feel free to share them as well. Thanks.

There are other members far more qualified that me to answer this as I'm a bit of a classical dunce, but I'm prepared to take a stab (embarrassment is good for the soul you know!) at saying it sounds a bit like something from Carmina Burana by Carl Orff.
Classical buffs, am I anyway near the mark?

Gentlemen: Thank you very much for the replies. Chris thanks for the information. I knew this forum was the place to come for a quick answer.
Again, if there are any performances of Verdi's Requiem on CD that you would like to recommend, please let me know.
Thanks.

What a Philistine thing to talk over it like that. Terrible.
Tam has made a number of posts on the many recordings of the Requiem by Verdi. A search with "Tam" "Verdi" and "Requiem" will no doubt turn up much sense not just from Tam but also those he was corresponding with in the threads.
Alternatively a search on "Guilini" will also bring up much that may be of interest.

Indeed I have, and mainly about the versions from Carlo Maria Giulini. See
here.
That thread needs a post-script in terms of Giulini's final recording of the work with Berlin Philharmonic. Finely recorded and played, but a little slow for my tastes and not so compelling as the live recordings. Also the EMI recording mentioned in that thread is discussed a little at the tale end of
this thread.
