Ken, I shouldnt really answer here but will anyway. Ive seen Stacey Kent live many many times. I am the only person I know who doesnt like her singing that much. To complicate matters I really like her on the radio (R3 Sat afternoons 4-30) and she's witty/charming on stage. The best place to start with records is the most recent Dreamsville which is probably her best (also Tender Trap or Close your eyes). I dont have the records but have heard all the songs. Her vocal style has matured and improved over the years. Most people love her singing.
Another very good local female vocalist is Tina May (recent record Time will Tell).
