Kindrest regards from Fredrik

I seem to have upset a few of the more sensitive types so in future I will try to put up a tongue in cheek smilie rather than a simple happy smilie next time I have a wry observation, here is a new set of irony from me.
Pink Floyd - Animals
Yes - Fragile
Patti Smith - Horses
Small Faces - Ogdens Nut Gone
Television - Television
Blondie - Parallel Lines
Jean-Michel Jarre - Magnetic Fields
Krafwerk - Trans Europe Express

some nice choices there Dean - can't argue with Patti, Television and Kraftwerk (although, I would have picked Computer World).

Good choices Dean - the two that stand out for me are Trans Europe Express and the wonderful Ogden's Nut Gone Flake.
There is a certain irony about being on a desert island a singing Wouldn't it be nice to get on wiv me neighbours.

Droodzilla,
It has to be Trans Europe for me because the first twelve inch record I ever bought was Planet Rock (Afrika BamBaataa) which samples Trans Europe Express. That's early Hip Hop to the masses.
ROTF
I saw a documentary on Ronnie Lane (Mr Unlucky) and saw some footage of Small Faces and luckily enough Get Back Records have reissued Ogdens on 180 Gram Vinyl in a copy of the Original packaging and I think its bloody marvelous especially Lazy Sunday, deserves its status, a template for many bands afterwards.
By the way getting a quality HiFi has made me just want to try out Music from all era's and styles at the moment its New York New Wave and Prog Rock this explains the Yes, Floyd, P Smith, and Television

Well, if you're PF mad and also into Roger Water's solo career surely on a desert island you should have "The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hicking" if only for the album art...

I have to point out, that my low activity doesn´t reflect lack of interest, but lack of time.
Newer-the-less my desert island eight CDs are:
Bach; Art of fugue / Helmut Walcha
Bach: Art of fugue / Gustav Leonhardt (second recording for DHM)
Bach: WTC / Gustav Leonhardt
Bach: Partitas for harpsichord / Lars Ulrik Mortensen
Bach: English suites / Alan Curtis
Bach: Clavierübung III / Walter Kraft
Bach: Cello suites / Ralph Kirschbaum
Bach: Brandenburg-concertos / Hans Martin Linde
There are very many other pieces of music, I would like to bring with me to the desert island -especially in the categories of medieval and renaissance music and baroque organ music, but time has shown me, that I in the end always return to Bach.

Let's give this a try.
Johnny Cash American Recordings
Bob Dylan Time out of Mind
Gillian Welsh Time the Revelator
Kate Bush Sensual World
Joni Mitchell Hejira
Tom Waits Blood Money
Johnny Cash A Hundred Highways
Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon
There that wasn't too difficult.
Obviously it would be different tomorrow but some would be there anyday I did a list, particularly the Johnny Cash

Dear Poul,
Sorry to put words in your mouth. It was pleasure to read your post! I bet I could choose eight Bach, and no I have not noted beyond the fact that the eight are Bach!
Then I will have a look and see if there is much co-incidence in choices!
Otherwise, this thread appears much better than when I post to it!

Dear Ian,
Having fun is in reality pointless, but I reckon it is the meaning of life!
I am a slow learner, but better watch out now, more than half way through! Fred
