Heathrow HiFi Show

Heathrow HiFi Show

Less than 2 weeks to this year's hifi show!!

Naim are displaying at both Heathrow and Olympia

What are they displaying at each and what will we be able to hear (and see) at each?

Last year they had a static display of the new top-of-the-range kit at Heathrow, but not a working demo of the top gear. Can we expect a 'head to head' competition between Naim, Krell and ML ?????

Cheers

Don

All these mumblings about heavy metal bring up one of the most valid criticisms of hifi today that is exaggerated at these shows - high end modern systems do not do well with:

a) 'poor' recordings
b) complex recordings with lots of potentially loud rhythmical layers, just like rock, metal, alternative in all their forms.

I am convinced that the reason that these people refuse to play these CDs at shows is because even if the room setup is OK they still sound shite. The fact that these recordings sound quite good on lesser systems may mean that the cheaper stuff does not high-light their bad points e.g. highly compressed, but surely there is some middle ground where expensive electronics can do rock/metal? I think I have heard it occasionally - a CDi/72/250 through a pair of Bricks maybe and no doubt one or two of forum members systems (which i have not heard) but i've never heard it at a hi fi show.

1) It's the beauty of the Naim forum - after all how long can you talk about a Hifi show?

2) The secret's called the Welsh Post

...I only mention it briefly, since due to the whole "stands war" debacle it is a bit of a sore point on this forum, but Mana has completely fixed this for me. Since I've moved my CDi onto Mana, I've been completely delighted at the transformation; good recordings sound sublime, but more importantly, mediocre and poor recordings now sound damn good as well!

...to my ears, didn't noticeably seem to bring the same kind of clarity that Mana does...{QUOTE]

I am glad you see the Light.... There is only one (stand): Mana Acoustics.

Has anyone tried the Clinique Napalm Death skin care range? I got it at Terminal 3 duty free last summer. Ever so nice and smooth when applied to a c***. (Don't know how to spell cuticles)

Sorry, just trying to connect the last two pages of posts. Did I miss anything?
