you can go ethernet way ( if youve a long enough cable )
or the microsoft way £60

i use the official adapter with no problems at all

John,

I'd highly recommend going the Microsoft wireless adaptor way. There's connectors on the back of the xbox 360 for it to plug right into and a USB port to connect it up to.

When I got mine, I plugged it in and went into the xbox to go configure it up and by the time I'd found the right menus, it had found my Linksys router, associated to it, got it's IP addressing and was downloading a firmware update to my xbox already !

Much easier than an ethernet to wireless bridge. You may end up saving yourself a fiver and getting yourself 4 hours of pain if you go that way.

Roy.

(PS, I kinda know a bit about networking as well :-)

thanks for the replys, where is the best place to buy the microsoft device, and do i need to buy anything else to go with it ?

John,

Depends. If you want it cheapish, go online and order it from amazon, or dabs or someone.

If you want it today, nip out to Game or another local game store and pick one up.

If you've got a wireless router on your DSL/cable line already, the adapators then all that you'll need.

john

you can buy the microsoft one anywhere
hmv ,game ,gamestation to name a few
you dont need anything else
like roy says its simple plug n play
if your wireless is locked down you just enter your id and wep key

neil

once you get online you can play old x box games if they have support
you just put your game in , the screen will say "update available for this game do you want to download "
click yes and youre away . upscaled old games , halo looks quite good

plugged the device in, its asking me for the wep key number, any ideas what that is ?

One your wireless router, you will have configured wireless security, generaly WEP, you need to put that number into the xbox so that your router will allow it to connect to it.

Do you know what WEP key you'd set it up originaly with ?
