North West Naim Society
Posted by: markah on 06 July 2008
I have been in discussion with several Forum members and meaning to start this off for a while now. There are quite a few people posting from the North West area so the plan is to hopefully get as many together as possible for an inaugural meeting.
There are no firm details as to the time and place - this can be decided once numbers are finalised. There is talk of a Naim/Zu weekend at Audio Counsel so perhaps it can be tied in with that.
So............anyone interested? If you are then post here, and feel free to email me if you wish (address in profile). All ideas and suggestions gratefully received!
Cheers

Been waiting for this for a while. Fealt a bit envious of the guys down south when they talked about their get togethers. Also no stranger at The AC and currently eyeing up a pair of Zu Def II'2 so count me in for the Aug affair.
Regards Abi.

Mark,
Thanks for your invite. I would love to come, but I am not sure if I will be able to make the date.
Anyway, enjoy the day and, at some point, I would be interested in hearing your set up that has obviously impressed James.
Regards
Richard

You guys,
It now looks like there are a good few numbers going.
Might be time to get Naim to come up there with a few things, And some Free bee's.
Just a thought.
They did it down here in March.
Its very good PR.
Munch
Yes, we are certainly hoping for Naim representation - along with a Powerline! And some freebies............

What are the timings to meet on the Saturday?
I'd like to go a football match at 3pm but if enough people are around in the morning I could journey over with a disc or two. Anyone like the Trembling Blue Stars ?
Regards

Well tomorrow is the day! Having spoken to a couple of fellow Forum members it looks as though there will be around 8-10 of us. I spoke to those good people at Naim HQ and they have sent us some sampler CD's. I missed the post today as I went straight to Oxfordshire after I left the ship on Wednesday evening, and have only just got home. I'll pick them up from the Delivery Office in the morning on the way to Cheadle.
For those who are coming could you give us an idea of what time you will be arriving? I hope to be there about 11am. Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.

I have a few errands to run in and around Cheadle so should be there 1030ish. Will be leaving 1330 or so to go and watch Witton Albion kick off in the Unibond Premier League.
Looking forward to meeting you.

Hello Richard,
Just spoke to Norman D - he should be there with Paul by the time you arrive. Myself and Ryan D will be there about 11am. I think James A is planning on an early start as well - James......come in, James!!

Many thanks to all who turned up. It was great to meet up with so many like minded people and enjoy some good music and a few laughs, and put a few faces to names!!
Many thanks also to Audio Counsel for their efforts and time (and some lovely sandwiches) and not being salesmen for the day (well to us!!), although I'm not so sure Mike will think that about the rest of us
(no, we weren't put up to it by Dave!!)
All the best

Hi Ryan, and all who attended, a very good day indeed.
Some good music, some outstanding speakers, and excellent guys and good crack.
As Ryan said excellent sandwiches, but we will have to watch Mark next time, it took Brian half an hour to vac up the crumbs he left
.
Excellent to see Charles, Mark, Norman, Paul, Mike, Richard, yourself Ryan, and Ken.
Hope you all enjoyed it?
Norman, Dave has worked out some trade-in figures for you to down grade and get the Zu Presence
.
Mark, Dave said he would keep the Definitions warm just for you
.
Many thanks to Dave and Brian at the AC for all the effort in the humid weather. We really appreciate it.
Its a pity Simon and AshtonCol could not make it, maybe next time.
Hope to see you all soon.
I'd post some pictures of the ZU Presence, but I do not know how to do it on this forum.

It was really great to meet everyone on Saturday. Mark, I'm envious of your system, I've a feeling I'll have to bite the 552 bullet one day, not yet a while though. Many thanks to Dave & Brian for hosting, sorry I had to leave before sarnie time!
Dave, Thanks for your offer to load Nils Lofgren's Acoustic Live onto an HDX for me if I bought one. I managed to find a lone secondhand copy on Amazon last night. Cost me twenty quid though.
