Great Dead offer at Fopp

Live Dead, Workingman's dead and American Beauty. Three box set for £7. Shite packaging but you can't complain at this price.
The Band, Gram Parsons et al are acknowledged as classic Americana. I sometimes feel that the country side of the Dead is unfairly overlooked and they are thought of as psychedelic jammers. They easily bear comparison with any classic country.

Fopp is great value for money. A new one has opened near me-lots of bargains - a shame no vinyl though. Frown

Although I still and probably always will think Anthem of the Sun is the Dead's finest, I too enjoy Workingman's Dead and American Beauty. From a Mars Hotel is not bad either - especially Unbroken Chain.

Yeah, I quite like Mars Hotel and Wake of the Flood. For me, though, their finest hour has to be Live Dead and Europe '72. Garcia's runs at the climax of Morning Dew are moving beyond words.
