If they can't be bothered to show their faces then neither can I.

Saw them a Leeds Festival a few years ago, and they were great fun, very entertaining.
I probably could not have managed more than about 40 minutes, but it was fun for that time.

I would like to know, just for the record, did the singer out of Slipknot go to Rome to see the Pope?

Nah, jumping off a Cliff would be much more pleasurable than watching The Knot

It was the Friday, and as far as I remember the line up on the main stage was:
Incubus - good, great drummer
Slipknot - entertaining, although after a few tacks I watched them from a distance while browsing stands, but fun.
Offspring - very good
The Prodigy - one of the worst performances I have seen, in 1997 they were a great techno band, with a guitar edge, this day they were a parody metal band, very like Slipknot, but without their fun.
Guns 'n' Roses headlined, but it was just Axel Rose plus session musicians. Joss Freeze and Robin Fink might have been in the band, but GNR is a band I was not bothered about seeing them in. Instead I went off to the the NME stage and saw a good set by Spiritualized.
Saturday had a great set by Janes Addiction, including 'Three Days' and The Strokes headlined, but again I was elsewhere at that time, Aphex Twin performed one of the best sets I have ever seen in the dance tent.
Sunday was headlined by Muse, although maybe there was someone after them. Horrible atmosphere, and a riot, bins and stuff set alight, at the end of the night. I saw some of Muse, but left early as it was so unpleasant in the crowd, glad I did when I heard the news reports at home.
I also saw a little bit of White Stripes and Pulp, both played well, but are not my thing, so I wandered on.
Haven't been tempted by Leeds since, the current crop of Indie bands don't inspire me, and as a festival it is no comparison to Glastonbury.
Leeds does not have a dance tent, which is where I always spend my time when there are no rock bands I want to see, and you can always guarantee a friendly atmosphere in the dance tents- if someone bumps into you, no aggro, just a big hug.
Ivor.
Hope you enjoy Slipknot, worth seeing once. I don't think they take themselves too seriously, and I think the masks allow them to put on a persona to make wild music and have a blast. Have fun, and keep your tongue in your cheek.

I guess you didn't give the correct handshake or sacrifice correctly, who knows what the fickle hand of fate has done.

Anyone who isn't turned on by slipknots gimics - but enjoys heavy music should check out Stone Sour. Corey Taylor, is a very talented and diverse singer. And isn't as ugly as you would have predicted without the mask...still pretty ugly though. Much like Slipknot...the older material is more satisfying.
