NAP 500 PSU leads and connectors

Posted by: ReTrO on 04 March 2003

Could nayone tell me what connector is used between the NAP 500 and it's PSU, and if they can be bought from anywhere (Naim included).

I'm looking to use a couple as a connection between an offboard PC ATX PSU and a breakout box inside the PC.

Cheers for any help.

Richard:

The Nap500 uses two black Burndy cables (dual mono) that are as fat as an elephant's d**k (with apologies to Joe Petrik) from the PSU to the amp. They look proprietary to me so I would imagine you would have to source them from Naim.

I've found some that suit my need, made by Burndy's parent company. I bought them from RS, they are 26 pin version of the one Naim uses. Hoepfully they'll be up to the job as they are pretty expensive.
