Girlfriend on a Short Leash

Personally I think these fine young people who were hounded off a bus recently were ill advised and put in the doghouse. The bus driver i believe was barking up the wrong tree in coming to this decision. If only he'd been polite and said "I can see she's a pedigree chum but we only allow Guide dogs on 'ere" I don't think it would have caused any offence. There was wide public and celebrity support from those as diverse as Annabelle Lewin lead singer with 'BowWowWow'and Shania's hubby Bob 'Mutt' Lang, the Rapper 'Snoop' and Donny Osmond who has re released 'Puppy Love' in tribute. Competion for the No.1 hit parade spot also comes in the form of re releases of 'how much is that Doggie in the Window (of PetsRUS)' 'Hound Dog' as well as re releases of films 'Dog Day afternoon' '101 Damned Goths' and 'Vampira Lassie'

Seems a little harsh! Dysfunctional maybe but live and let live, Garyi! I am curious as to how they were a safety threat though?

They were not of course.

However running straight to the papers is hardly in keeping with being dysfunctional is it? All they did there was conform conform conform.

Then surely they had every right to be on the bus and are making a valid point.

Couldn't disagree there, garyi. It reminds me of a couple of things:

1. A scene in Tony Hancock's The Rebel where a bunch of French beatniks are sitting about going on about pathetic normal people are for all being the same, and how wonderful they were for being individuals while every one of them was dressed exactly the same: black polo neck, black jeans, pasty white face.

2. Walking through the streets of Glasgow with my teenage son a couple of years ago. In front of us was a youth with tinted hair, dressed in black tee-shirt, baggy jeans and Vans. On the tee-shirt was "You mock me because I'm different but I pity you because you're all the same". I looked at my son, also with tinted hair, black tee-shirt, baggy jeans, and Vans. Thankfully the irony wasn't lost on him.

I guess it's a phase we all go through.

I thought they were very sweet, and not hurting anybody.

Just glad that my leash is a bit longer!

So they were chucked off a bus for being conformist? I think I am losing the plot.

What's the difference between tripping over a DOG on a lead in a bus accident or tripping over a human on a lead in a bus accident?

The square root of f*** all.

Therefore it seems pretty discriminatory to me...

Incidentally, I know someone who knows the pair. Apparently they're fairly-OK people Smile

Damn right - and it's all good fun when you've got enough problems reading the sodding bus numbers in the first place! Tossers!!!
