You sad, sad man. His team thrashed yours fairly and squarely, yet you're still looking for a scapegoat two weeks after their well-deserved departure.
You'd do better to criticise Airhead Rooney. the useless Beckham or fat Frankie Lampard.

Graham,
I agree with you about all three players, except I still have some residual faith in Rooney being a real asset to England when he, eventually, grows up (and calms down).
Ronaldo is a diver though - you only had to see his blatant effort against Germany to see that. No sour grapes on my part - we (England) weren't good enough to win and had we got past Portugal in the quarters I don't think we'd have got much further, nor deserved to for that matter.

Thank you, Erik.

Returning to the subject, looking back it was a crying shame that Ronaldo continued against Germany with the same diving tactics when he was playing at such a high level at other times on the pitch. He wasn't alone amongst the Portuguese team and nor were they in relation to several other teams in the competition. FIFA must get off their lardy arses and sort these shambolic tactics out once and for all.
None of the above takes away from the fact that England were pants.

England were/are good enough to win the world cup, & yet remarkably were moulded into a pants team by Sven. And yes, Ronaldo is a twat.
matt.
matt.

Spot on. England's poor showing was all to do with own goals.
