Sorry, it’s late; I’ve had a few beers and got a disastrous bank statement today so I’m feeling pissed and belligerent. I find myself watching a repeat of a recent Top of the Tops on cable and there’s a bunch of nonentities singing Happy Christmas War is Over as though they’re making a significant contribution to music. What’s that all about? Feck me Victoria Beckham is now on “singing” her new single. Better get to bed before I make my Da sound like a freethinking liberal.
Bah humbug.

Yes that bunch of arse is the 'idols'
Apparently they will be dropping pop idol after the current series so that it can go out on a 'high'
Although I thinks its becuase its crap and no one is interested anymore. Plus it seems to have been going on for around 6 months now.
And what about the threat of the Beckhams becoming a dual product, un-splitable. He would appear in her videos, and presumably she would supply the ball from the left field.

Indeed the first commandment (something about having no idols other than God I think) never rung so true.
Maybe there is a God. Maybe HE will strike these talentless losers down at somepoint over the festive Christmas

Know the feeling. Every time I see fuckin Dido on the tele I want to scream. How can such a talentless boring nonentity get such exposure when there a so many fine musicians out there who are virtually unknown and struggling for a living.
And to think that people that buy Dido recrods are allowed to vote!!
Funny old world.

Pandering to the lowest denominator by providing CDs at say UKP10 a pop allows one to pay for the advertisings to inform the lowest common denomiter that you are selling CDs at UKP 10 a pop. . . .
Looks like a good businesses model to me.

To Mr Lorenson...
to answer your question - to the best of my superficial knowledge - Dido got a record deal because she was screwing her producer. Who she is now divorced from as I understand it!
The best part of dido was the bongo intro to Thank You.
Uninspiring yes, however I was struggling to find anything!
