Any UPnP Server software recommend for NaimUniti
Posted by: jim329 on 30 June 2009
Hi all,
I just bought NaimUniti. But when I installed the TVersity Media Server, Uniti cannot recongize it. Which I can see the share file in other PC. Please advise which UPnP server software is good for NaimUniti? eg: Twonky?
Thanks a lot

Now my Tversity works fine because my router problem previously. Both Tversity & Uniti work fine after I changed new router.
Now I found I feel not friendly with controlling Uniti to picking a song such as small screen, no album pic support etc...
I found Squzzebox has software plugin for Linn DS: http://oss.linn.co.uk/trac/wiki/SkweezyDs
Any idea of it? SquzzeCenter has very good controlling and friendly. Plus it has iphone app for iphone remote control the machine....

Jim,
Is your mention of the DS software a hint that you are thinking about returning the Uniti?
If so, dont do anything else yet. Wait for the Naim DAC and use any player and controller you want.

does Naim DAC come out soon?
No, I am asking any possible way to have a control software like SquzzeCenter, or else using SquzzeCenter to control 3rh party streamer such as Linn DS. Since Linn DS & Uniti are using the same technology UPnP.... Thanks a lot

Just get my uniti at home, man what a nice thing.
My iRadio works well so i got connection with my WIFI. Now i like to play music files ( MP3 ) from out of my computer ( iMac )
Now i have seen UPnP software.
Itunes is not record-nice
But what software is the best to use with my uniti and imac? And will be free.

Now i do have Twonky media. Works very well.
But how can i configure that it is not my startup page of my imac? In my safari configuration it is Google. But Twonky will come up as first.

+1 for Twonky recommendation!
Had unresolvable problems with Allegro! Switched to Twonky and within minutes my Uniti was up and running!

For cross-device compatibility we recommend Asset v2 (which also features Internet Radio, such as BBC, etc). Asset v1 was written specifically with Linn DS support in mind, where-as Asset v2 expands compatibility.
I tried to find Asset V2 on the DBpoweramp website but had no luck...is it still in development ?

It appears still to be in beta testing.
