If it is the service I think it is, it shows the mortgagable amount rather that the purchase price.........

As others have said a few free services exist that show house price iformation from the Land Registry and when coupled with the likes of ononemap many hours can go missing as neighbours and friends are browsed. What would be more fun is something that whould show how the purchase was financed, was it through the proceeds of crime, the sale of another property, a lotto win or what? Now that would be fun.

used a site like this and checked on a house near mine to see what it went for and discovered that the nice couple who owned it had originally bought it under the umbrella of their lap dancing agency!
Damn, all those party invitations I declined!
