With the record player out of action I was missing the Tennessee Two so dug out an old Rhino box set best of Sun Records. 3 CDs of heavenly joy.
Johnny Cash, Roy Orbsion, "The Killer" Jerry Lee, Elvis obviously, the great Carl Perkins. My favourite version of Mystery Train is by Sleepy La Beef. Its amazing how fresh and intense this music still sounds. Theres a pub in Camden, a meeting place for rockabilly freaks, that I wandered into one night recently that plays rare Rockabilly 45s all night at brain shattering intensity. A musical genre built on amphetamines!
