Top quality music is priceless.
If you feel it's costing too much to keep your kit turned on, maybe it's time for a downgrade......
A night-light is typically around 10 watts. Have a couple or few of those burning, or security lights (normally 300-500 watts) burning part of a night, and Hi Fi uses a negligable amount in comparison!
Computers are supposed to work on 1's and 0's - in other words "Yes" or "No" - why does mine frequently say "Maybe"?......

Someone stated here in the past, that each powered item averages about 20 watts.
So; you're only talking about running a couple of light bulbs 24/7.
Peanuts, for your musical pleasure.

Obviously it is the 82 using so much juice by needing 2 power supplies. Replace those hi-caps with a supercap and you won't care about the cost!

Cut you bill in half by playing only mono recordings.

Cut your bill by listening to your system every waking hour for three months, and then turning it off for the rest of the year.
or
Sell all your CD's and replace them with only Barry Manilow and Neil Diamond, then you won't want to play anything and can turn it off permanently.
or
Assume it costs you £50 to keep turned on, and charge it to your next job as a hidden expense.
or
Wait until the neighbours go on holiday, go under the wall and take a spur off their ring main.
