Just arrived in St Maarten. 29C here. But the plane from Paris this morning was delayed whilst they defrosted the engines.

It's a confounded nuisance! I have given up the Carlton for the while as it is dangerous on the ice. The snake skin style tyres are next to useless in the conditions. I have refrained from the temptation of the Volvo though, prefering to walk. It still has the snow on it, intact after days!

Norway is typically the coldest place in Europe, rivalling Siberia for the severity of the winter cold sometimes.

Removed the thermometer from the greenhouse (reading -5) to put in the garden yesterday at 4 pm.
At 8am the reading was -12 Eek
Goodness only knows how low it was at 4 in the morning!

If only we could share the thermometer in our car port pasted the half way point today reads from -20 to 100 hit a high of 44C.
Our air cond could not keep up to the task with the hot north wind. Can not get the house below 26C.
Now at 9pm it is still 38C outside but air cond is up to the task so it is OK inside.
