Why Are Aliens Always Naked ?
Posted by: Berlin Fritz on 30 June 2005
When you consider that 'everything' in our lives is a result of the Human Brain's imagination & experience, I can't even begin to speculate why we percieve serious Sci-Fi Aliens as being forever undressed ?

Good point. Went to see War of the Worlds today and sure enough the aliens were nekked.

Yes but was it a good film?

Saw a documentary the other day about what life will be like in the future (it was called 'Star Trek' I think). Having watched it I can set your minds at ease, they do wear clothes.

I think this topic was briefly touched upon (if you'll excuse the phrase) in the movie 'Undead' from 2002. When aliens appeared in that they were clothed, except one, who said "I'm comfortable with my appearance" or some such thing. An exceptional film in a number of other ways, too, in my opinion.

Perhaps because it’s logical? We Humans see all other creatures naked, in fact (unless some human dresses them up) no other beings wear cloths. And they probably have more fun that way, they feel free and have no badges of social status. Of coarse this is all hypothetical as if aliens from space do exist, they may well wear clothes and look indistinguishable from other human folk, or remain naked and hidden only communicating through the medium of web forums.
This may lead to further investigations,
John.

How do you know they're undressed, they may just be wearing clothes like that T'Pol bird.

Not bad - but not exactly good either. Entertaining in parts. I liked the sound effects. A vehicle for Tom. I think the treatment would have benefitted from more characters.
Etc.

For the same reason that fat burds always wear ridiculously skimpy stuff, particularly during the summer? You wouldn't believe some of the mingers round George Square at the moment. They could well be aliens.

"Mingers"
Obviously some obscure Eton nomenclature for (??) or some such thing. The English language...

How about:
1) Adam Alien was very obdient and didn't eat from the forbidden tree and thus could thus prance around in paradise forever.
2) Their skin evolved to the extent that they don't need clothing.
3) The Alien God didn't make any little mistakes they need to be ashamed of.
4) Or could it be the same reason that Laura Dearn gets to run around Jurassic Park in skimpy torn dresses while everyone else is rugged up in sensibly warm clothing.

As only some 22-3 million American Patriots listened/tuned into their Presidents Key Iraq Speech yesterday from Fort Bragg (NC) some 8% in fact, one wonders if the rest should be sent to Gauntanamo Bay for an extended holiday, innit.
