How old is your usual email address?

It was just a strange thought that went through my bored head today: this summer I'll have had my HoTMaiL address for eleven years. I won't be celebrating or anything silly, don't worry!

I have a 3 letter @msn.com address from the beta programme for Windows 95, so that must be 1994-5 vintage.
Checked reasonably regularly. ;-)

Stu,
Sorry to disappoint but I have only had two email accounts associated with the forum; the name changes have been requests to the Forum Administrators.

My main address has been in use now for about 7 years. I have much younger hotmail account that is only 5 years old.
Cheers
Brad

I had an email address that originated from 95 the domain was changed when the original owner decided to simplify their mission.
I closed the email address in January and my daily spam count went from 100 a day to 800 on one two occasions down to zero with my newer address

I still have my original domain address circa 1992 soon after Demon Internet started trading. I still use this domain for my main e-mail addresses.
One of my then work colleagues registered with them within 24 hours of hearing me talk about the fact that you could download material of a dubious nature

My current main one is about two years old, mainly as I bought a domain name to match my own, and added my Christian name before the @.
I had to give up one about three years ago as it got spammed out of usefulness, partly as many years ago I stupidly clicked a 'remove me form this mail list' on a span, and so confirmed that it was a valid email address. Stupid, stupid, stupid!
I keep a spare webmail, and also have an almost unused webmail address that are used for posting to forums that show emails, and can be harvested by robots, or if I want to sign up for somewhere I have little trust for (band's mailing lists, etc.).
I also had an email address that was three letters at a major domain, similar to jvt@virgin.co.uk , don't ever do that, spam robots go through all the 3 letter combinations at major domains, probably four letters too.

I've had mine sine I bought my first home PC, in 1996. Through careful 'unchecking' on shopping websites I receive very, very little spam, although I do pay 200 yen a month (about 1.45 Pounds) a month for my IP's spam filtering. I guess it is very good.
