CD 5 vs. CD 3.5

How much of a difference is there (I never listened to a CD 5)?

Do some listeners prefer the 3.5?

3.5: Fun, but caricatures the music to some extent. No soundstage - the raw Naim sound. Wipes the flaw ('scuse pun red face with a Linn Ikemi regarding bass articulation.

5: More refined. Does soundstaging. A little more laid-back than the 3.5, but has a better perspective on the music and its presentation.

Add a Flatcap(2)/Hi-cap, and the restraint disappears somewhat. The latter lends more authority.

Regards,

Steve.

It's just a pleasure to hear music as it was intended to be heard.

Steve has hit the nail on the head. I couldn't have said it better myself.
