Testing interest in NAIM aficionado social event in Portland, OR, USA area.

Posted by: olrac on 26 February 2009

I wasn't sure where to post this or if this type of post is kosher. I live in Beaverton, OR, USA and am a dedicated NAIM enthusiast! I know we have quite a few active forum members in the Portland, OR area. I'm judging interest in a get together at my house for a NAIM social. Check out my system, bring your music, hardware, wine...should be fun & better than an evening in surfing the forum Roll Eyes . If we get enough critical mass, maybe we evolve this into "NAIM club!". I look forward to your feedback here on the forum & seek guidance from our moderators as to how best to contact you to plan a date.

Kind regards,

Paul.

Thanks Stu,

I look forward to hearing from Jeff & Patrick.
I had particpated in an "audiophile" club when in UT a few years back. It was a lot of fun. I hosted a Britsh evening...food, music, hardware & hosts were all British. I think we converted a few that day!

Here's a couple of shots of the system as an incentive... Roll Eyes

Regards,

Paul.

Thanks Tonpub,
I've no idea if I can share my email or physical address here? The "chat" feature doesn't appear active for my forum account. But how about meeting this weekend? A suitably obscure landmark to meet at being Ava's Coffehouse near the Beaverton library.

Kind regards

Paul.

Paul - Just looking at your system pics. Is that a DVD5 there, but no where near a screen - are you just using it for multi channel audio, next to the CDS3 ? Just curious.

By the way, put your email address in your profile if you want people to contact you, seems to be ok with the gaffer from what I have seen. (perhaps put some spaces in the address, so the net robots don't pick it up)

Hi Steve,

Yes, it's a DVD5. Believe it or not, but my rear wall is the screen currently, projector is a Pano AX200U. The wall "screen" does very well, even though its textured & somewhat "green" the image is fine with contrast to match a grey screen, particularly if you like watching M*A*S*H! We've been struggling to justify a screen for 6 months...but yes..next month well be ordering a Carada screen. The DVD5 audio out is "just" stereo which I find more than adequate. As you may know the DVD5 is a quirky SOB....(hit pause again ..ok...now we have sound...here we go). But I love it dearly as the sound & image quality is superb...

Thanks for the profile email tip.

Kind regards,

Paul.
