Any used these higher capacity discs? I've ha some around for a while and needed a larger disc to back up latest holiday picies (720MB) only showing 702 available to use on a 80min disc. Ok I thought I'll use the larger ones still only showing them as 702 MB available. So do I
1) need to change some settings ?
2) bollock the supplier?
PC P4 running XP HE
(no I don't need a MAC thanks before the ususl helpful suggestions)
TIA

It would appear entirely feasible that a bastard disk such as this would require a drive that can use it.

Why dont you use DVDs with 4 gigs?

It is not a problem with your PC or the disks or anything else except your burning software. If you are using Nero you probably need to update it. Nero's forum suggests using "overburn". A Japanese site suggests

"(1) Start NERO software and select ‘No Multisession”(2) Please select ‘disc-at-once’setting area, then press ‘NEW’(3) Select the burning file (e.g. 850MB file size)(4) Press FILE>Preference, select ‘expert features’(5) Select ‘Enable Disc-at-once Overburning’ then press ‘Confirm’(6) Press BURN and the screen will show the selected file was beyond the normal usage, continue or not? Please press ‘Write Overburn Disc’ to confirm. (7) After finished, the computer could view the disc with 850MB."

Hope that helps!
