There is another C&W way ...

Posted on: 29 January 2008 by Diccus62
555 slightly lost on his way to his 865th New Order Concert in Nevada Winker

Posted on: 29 January 2008 by Ian G.
looks like he's lost slightly more than his way...

I think the hat and boots combo are really fetching, shame he had to use the NO Tour underpants to wipe his..................... brow Smile

"High on a hill there's a lonely goatherd etc"

Here he is later, having changed...................

The dress get's terrible creased in the knapsack, but a boy scout is always prepared.

Having reached civilisation our avid NO fan changes into more appropriate beach wear and gets involved in a demo decrying Hooky as Satan. I think the beads are a nice touch.

I can't follow that - it is too disturbing. He'll catch his death of cold dressed like that though.

So this is what happens when you leave a thread unattended for a few hours; a very disturbing set of reactions to my perfectly innocent post Roll Eyes

Surely you country boys recognised ...

... Hank Wangford, although I admit he is less well known for his naked mountaineering then for his C&W stylings Winker

Much better than Rickie Lee Jones IMHO

Better than RLJ, never Winker
Posted on: 31 January 2008 by 555
Sorry Diccus!

I was confusing RLJ for a "new country" act.

Although I've done some research, I can't work out who I was thinking of ...
Posted on: 31 January 2008 by Diccus62
That must be the famous Ronald Leviathon Jalabert marvellous with tin whistle and slide guitar Winker

Rickies best album IMO and one of my favourite albums, period.........................

Thanks for the recommendation. I'm always interested in new (to me) music, so I've just ordered it!

I dont think you will be disappointed.

Steve Gadd and Jeff Porcaro featuring on some of the tracks, it doesnt get much better than that.

First album is also a classic, not as dramatic as 'Pirates' but a great pop album in my opinion.

The first album is hard to beat. And Pop Pop, an album of covers, is superb.

There was a small article in the LA Times that she was doing shows on Monday nights at a local club. Said it was unrehearsed and she was great. She talked with audience, and the band to set things up. Each Monday was to be different. I wish I'd been there, by now I'm sure the club is mobbed.

In the article she said she needed money and thought "what am I doing at home when I could be out there playing and having fun." What a gal.

Wolf2

You might be suprised and get in, she is well known to a few but she doesn't sell out many gigs (over here anyway). Sounds good tho.

Nah she had a mini album called Girls at her Volcano. Wonderful stuff that is now only available as a Jap import.

I also like her Live at the Wiltern DVD. I have a excellent sounding engineers recording of her at the Guthrie Theatre, Minneapolis. Which is from the same tour.
