Now I went into Watford today and left with some superb rock albums.
Namely Led Zeps 2, 3 and 4 album. Am running through them now and god damn its all good fun.
However I want the theme to top of the pops. which one is it off?
Cheers.
BTW also got Evanescence, Fallen
I think its really good. although if you concentrate to hard you hear meat loaf. well worth 11 quid though. Buy it.

Now listen up.
I have had a day of superb music. It would appear myh first purchase of 'in through the back door' was a porr representation of Led Zep
All three of these albums are not only excellently recorded, the music is damn fine stuff!
I espcially like the cover of III which quite frankly could not be reporduced on CD, rotating that wheel was mighty satisfying.
More over its moved me into my heavy(ish) rock movement.
Isn't it odd that by todays standards LedZep might not be considered heavy rock.
Good stuff though. Moreover, as this Zep record is not a pinkfloyd one, in the world of Toy it must be a Maralyn Manson one.
Cool

Look out for the latest 'vinyl replica' releases. Perfect reproductions of the vinyl covers, including the rotating wheel.

Gary,
I'd recommend Houses of the Holy and Physical Graffiti. I Feel the former is under-estimated. Its a very good emoldic album (much to my surprise).
While you're in the the record get Miles Davis' A Tribute to Jack Johnson. It sounds like Miles' equivalent of The Grand Wazoo, so you'll like it.

Garyi,
Definately get Physical Graffiti. If you like the wheel on III, you'll love the windows on P.G.
Oh yeh, it's a damn fine album too.

Mmmm... but in terms of skyscraper-flattening heaviosity, Led Zep make everyone else look like wimps. Iron Maiden, Metallica, even the mighty Sabs and Purps are all pretty thin compared to LZ.
On the album front, ALL of LZ's albums apart rom Coda and In Through... are absolutely essential.
The two best are Physical Grafitti and How The West Was Won (only on CD at the moment, but available as a 6-LP box set in September). The most under-appreciated are Houses of the Holy and Presence.
The Song Remains The Same is a tricky one, but it contains an awesome live version of No Quarter which is worth the price of admission alone.
If you have a DVD player, then you also need the LZ DVD - it proves why they were, and are likely to remain, the greatest rock band of all time.

They are under appreciated because they simply are not as good as I,II,III,IV and Physical Graffiti (IMO).

Then it would also be rude not to get a copy of "Deep Purple - Machine Head" as a starting point to one of the other great rock bands of the era.
I agree Deep Purple Machine Head is also an essential album. (as is 'In Pock')

Greeny,
but those two albums contain some of the Zep's mightiest moments: HOTH has "Over The Hills & Far Away", "Song Remains The Same" and "No Quarter", while Presence has "For Your Life", "Nobody's fault But Mine" and, of course, "Achilles' Last Stand". Can't argue with that.
On the Purps front, IMO Made In Japan is the best album - it's got all the best Machine Head tracks on it but in much louder, heavier versions.

In a somewhat out of character mode, I can also heartily recommend Physical Graffiti as a classic album. Esp. Kashmir & Trampled Underfoot.
I don't have many of their other LPs, perhaps I will start looking for them.

Turns out I have Graffiti! It is a cool album cover, however I seem to recall picking it up for 50p on a bootie on account of the records being utterly trashed, which they are.
Off to ebay with me.
Seriously I always considered LedZep to be, well cheesy, and in a sort of way it is, but damn fine music too. Thank god for vinyl I got the three albums in pristine condition (all promo copies) for 12 quid.
